Every contribution counts
History
After a serious crash while enduro riding in Portugal, Sigi Zachmann (60) remains paraplegic. After initial treatment in Portugal, Sigi was flown to the Swiss Paraplegic Centre in Nottwil. He receives the best possible care at this specialised clinic. This accident has changed his life forever.
As a family, we are determined to do everything in our power to help Sigi. We the two daughters Joyce and Tyra decided to start a fundraising campaign to help with the financial burden we are facing. Every contribution, no matter how small or large, makes a difference and brings us closer to our goal of enabling Sigi to live a dignified and fulfilling life despite his challenges.
We are immensely grateful for any form of support, be it financial or by sharing this fundraiser with others. Your solidarity and compassion mean a lot to us and give us the strength to get through this challenging time.
About Sigi
Sigi Zachmann, born on 20 January 1964, developed a passion for motocross at a young age. Despite initial financial challenges, he pursued his dream and worked alongside his school and apprenticeship to finance his passion for motocross.
During his active sporting career, Zachmann was one of the fastest motocross riders in Switzerland for over ten years and won the Swiss championship title twice. He later switched to Supermoto and was Swiss runner-up in the Prestige category in 2000. He finally ended his career as a rider in 2004.
Parallel to his active career in motocross, Zachmann and his wife founded Motoshop Zachmann in 1993, an established motorbike and bicycle shop at Basadingerstrasse 52 in CH-8253 Diessenhofen, where 13 employees work today.
He also trained as a national coach, eventually training Swiss motocross riders and running his own motocross school.
Sigi Zachmann is married to his wife Susi. Together they have two daughters, Joyce (28) and Tyra (24). The family is completed by their two dogs Anouk and Plûme.
We are infinitely grateful for any form of support, be it financial or by sharing this fundraising campaign with others. Your solidarity and compassion mean a lot to us and give us the strength to cope with this challenging time.
